Prioritizing mental health at AiSight: supporting team members, supporting the team

As part of our commitment to quality of life at work, AiSight is proud to announce a new partnership with Mindsurance. Together, we're providing mental healthcare services to our team members. Mental health can be a serious barrier to well-being and quality of life, both in and out of work. Offering everyone on team AiSight the tools to care for their mental health is the best way we can continue to improve the quality of life at AiSight.

This is the right thing to do on multiple levels, ethically and pragmatically. Whichever aspect of life or work we look at, mental health matters!

Why mental health matters at work

Mental health is important to overall well-being—and just as important in our work lives as in our personal lives. Mental-health issues are a growing concern in workplaces, with stress, anxiety, and depression among the challenges employees face—all of which can ultimately lead to turnover and decreased profits. There's a growing awareness among business leaders that to support both their businesses and their employees, they need to prioritize mental health. This creates a culture of support that benefits all employees and improves the bottom line.

According to a report by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, depression and anxiety cost the European economy an estimated €240 billion per year in lost productivity. Employees who are struggling with mental health challenges may experience decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and decreased job satisfaction. And according to a study by the OECD, workers with depression are, on average, 20% less productive than their peers.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the scope of these issues to light. According to a survey conducted by Eurofound in 2021, 29% of European workers reported experiencing stress-related symptoms, with 21% experiencing anxiety and depression. A survey by Deloitte found that 40% of European workers experienced an increase in anxiety and depression during the pandemic, with 36% feeling burned out.

The pandemic also highlighted the importance of work-life balance, with 59% of European workers citing mental health as a reason they would like to have more flexible work arrangements.

How Mindsurance helps

Given the importance of mental health, conscientious employers are now providing resources such as counseling, training on stress management, and flexible work arrangements. And specialized platforms have emerged to help—Mindsurance leading the field.

Mindsurance is a mental-health platform that supports employees in managing their mental health and well-being. They provide valuable mental-health resources for employees, including quick access to therapists, digital training, live workshops, and meditation resources—all leading to a happier, healthier, and more productive team.

At Aisight, we value mental health and have taken measures accordingly. Since 2021, we've been collaborating with Iulia Oprea from the Dragon Coaching House, a company specialized in leadership development for coaching sessions with a Gestalt approach. Last year, we hosted a series of academy sessions, one of which welcomed a speaker from the public health-insurance company TK. They spoke about the importance of mental health in the workplace and measures our teammates could take to improve their own and others’ well-being.

Now, we've introduced Mindsurance as a benefit for all employees. It's the next logical step in our commitment to supporting the well-being of the team and creating a culture of well-being.

Mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being. And it's just as important in the business world as in our personal lives. The impact of mental health on business results is clear, highlighting the need for leaders to prioritize mental health in the workplace. At AiSight, we're taking that lead, creating a more positive and productive work environment, benefiting both employees and our business as a whole.
